Foundation "Per Sophia"

The Foundation “Per Sophia”, promoted by the Focolare Movement, with offices at Incisa in Val d’Arno (Florence), was formed on 19 December 2009 and registered on 28 May 2010 in the regional alb of private institutions with the Region of Tuscany, for the purpose of being recognized as a legal entity.

The Foundation is non-profit, with the main scope of supporting the growth and development of the Sophia University Institute, a center for education and academic research.

The Foundation, in particular:

a) supports the educational and research activities that take place at the University Institute, both directly and through the granting of awards, financial assistance and scholarships, also for formative externships, to students and new graduates;

b) contributes to financing, in collaboration with other entities and organizations, every promotional activity and research initiative, aimed at the development and the qualification of the University Institute. More generally, it supports its educational programs, including the Institute’s external relations with the local community;

c) contributes to the financing of cultural and educational programs sponsored by the University Institute and helps cover the operational costs of the Institute.
